Bowel cancer survivors promote the value of screening

There is nothing more rewarding for people working on the National Bowel Screening Programme (NBSP) than to hear the stories of people who credit the programme with saving their lives.

Since it began in July 2017 the NBSP has detected cancers in cancers in 750 people, most of whom were totally unaware they had bowel cancer. Two such cases were recently featured in a story in the New Zealand Herald.
