Screening programmes at COVID-19 alert level 4

Friday, August 20, 2021 - 09:11

Some screening programmes are continuing to operate, with appropriate safeguards in place to keep participants and staff safe, but others have been paused under COVID-19 alert level 4.  Providers have received guidance from the National Screening Unit about protocols for operating during the current lockdown.

Cervical and breast screening are paused. This means no appointments are being issued for routine screening.

At present bowel screening will continue. You can still expect to receive your invitation to take part in bowel screening.

Updates to the health sector will come through your contacts within the National Screening Unit.

The information below under individual programmes is reviewed and updated for the public as the situation develops.
