Wednesday, August 10, 2011 - 00:00

An external review of the National Cervical Screening Programme (NCSP) has been undertaken this year, in accordance with the Health Act 1956, as amended by Part 4A in 2004. The Parliamentary Review Committee conducted its review between March and June 2011.

The National Screening Unit welcomes the report, which endorses the NCSP's current direction, while identifying areas of focus for the future. The report recognises the NCSP's success in reducing cervical cancer while suggesting areas that could be strengthened to ensure the programme's continued effectiveness.

The full report with its recommendations is available for download from the NCSP Review 2011 section (link to come) .
