National Metabolic Screening Annual Report Published

Almost 58,000 newborns were screened last year under New Zealand’s Metabolic Screening Programme (NMSP).

The aim of the NMSP to reduce illnesses associated with congenital metabolic disorders by screening newborns to detect any issues before life-threatening conditions or developmental delays occur.
