Bowel screening national multimedia campaign
Work has begun on the national bowel screening campaign. The aim of the campaign is to raise awareness of bowel screening and encourage participation in the National Bowel Screening Programme (NBSP), with particular emphasis on increasing Māori and Pacific participation.
The national campaign will seek to complement and enhance the amazing work already underway locally and regionally, and tap into the insights and learnings from kaimahi. The NBSP recognises that local providers know your communities and how best to reach them.
A campaign manager has been engaged, and a campaign advisory group convened. This group has broad sector representation, including from the Māori bowel screening and Pacific bowel screening networks, regional bowel screening centres, and the Māori Monitoring Equity Group. It will have input from the early stages of campaign planning. There will also be strong clinical and consumer input.
A request for proposal for an advertising/marketing agency has gone out, and we hope to have a provider in place and creative development underway before Christmas. The campaign will launch in May/June 2022. Separately, we plan to undertake some increased promotion of the NBSP in early 2022, while the main campaign is being developed.
