Colposcopy services

All DHB Colposcopy Clinics must send colposcopy results electronically, via HL7 messaging, to the National Cervical Screening Programme (NCSP) National Coordination Centre.

The National Cervical Screening Programme (NCSP) uses HPV testing as the primary screening test.

The current colposcopy policies and standards (Section 6: Providing a colposcopy service [PDF 446 KB]) came into effect on 1 July 2013.

In accordance with these standards the current colposcopy form must be used if you cannot send information electronically to the NCSP Register. Copies of the form and the data dictionary, which explains the data items, are available to download.
