Colposcopy services

All DHB Colposcopy Clinics must send colposcopy results electronically, via HL7 messaging, to the National Cervical Screening Programme (NCSP) National Coordination Centre.

Private Colposcopy Clinics may send colposcopy results via facsimile to the Register Central Team if electronic messaging is not available.

Contact details for the NCSP National Coordination Centre are as follows:

NCSP National Coordination Centre
PO Box 5895
Wellington 6140
Free phone: 0800 50 60 50
Fax: (04) 460 1100

Screening histories can be sourced from Regional Services on free phone 0800 729 729 if the colposcopy service does not have direct access to the NCSP Register.

The current colposcopy policies and standards (Section 6: Providing a colposcopy service [PDF 446 KB]) came into effect on 1 July 2013.

In accordance with these standards the current colposcopy form must be used if you cannot send information electronically to the NCSP Register. Copies of the form and the data dictionary, which explains the data items, are available to download.
