"I survived breast cancer because I found it early"

June Northcroft Grant – breast cancer survivor. Wife, mother, grandmother, friend, artist. Te Arawa, Tuwharetoa, Tuhourangi/Ngati Wahiao.

June Northcroft Grant is a celebrated Maori artist and businesswoman.  She is also a breast cancer survivor. June knows more than anyone how important it is for women to go for their breast screening.

"Breast screening can pick up tiny, little specks that you would never feel and that’s the important thing.  They may detect something just through the mammogram that they think doesn’t look quite right… and then they can do something about it."

Most women will find that there is nothing wrong.  But if cancer is found and treated early enough, you could go on to lead a full and healthy life, just like June.
